The end of a great year.

This has been one crazy year.
I have done a lot. 2 jobs, 2 sports, and a musical.

But, my top 5 favorite things/events of the year are:

1) My cousin Sarah's wedding.

Us!
2) My high school graduation.
Ready for college!
3) Went to Hawaii. I have now decided my dream is to live in Hawaii, and not just when I retire.
Attempting to surf!

Ziplining on Maui.

Waverunning!
4) Living on Starkenburg floor! I have met some pretty cool people in South Hall. They are amazing friends!

5) Completing my first semester of college.

There are many other moments but not enough time and pictures to talk about them, like Bigstuf, babysitting crazy kiddos, and dating my crazy boyfriend.

2012 is supposed to be the year the world ends, but is it really. For all I know I really want to live to be a little old lady, super tan, and in Hawaii.

I can't wait to see what 2012 will bring.

I will not make an New Year resolutions. Because I always break them.

A Good Read.

It has been a while since I have posted anything on my blog. I am sorry I broke my promise of posting everyday. I hope everyone reading had a great Christmas. For Christmas this year I asked for and received a Kindle Fire.
So cool!
It is not only a reading device, but you can go on Facebook and even play fruit ninja! How cool. So, I downloaded a free book, and one that I got for free. It is called the Hunger Games. You should consider reading it because it is that good of a book. I read it in probably 6 hours! I love reading but it normally takes me longer.

Read it!
I can't wait to read my next book after I publish this post!

Living from a suitcase.

Well I have survived finals, and I have survived the drive home even if it's just an hours. I don't know what is in store for my break. At short break at that.

The weirdest thing about living at college and coming home is living out of my suitcase while I am actually home. So instead of living out of my suitcase, I put all of my clothes in a laundry basket. Yeah, that sounds strange too.

I miss South Hall, and that is sounds crazy, but I do. I miss my amazing friends that live in my room or right next door. Even though they are only a text or Facebook chat away; it's just weird not being able to see them in person. The biggest thing I miss from South is the heat! That makes me sounds spoiled, and it's true. I am very spoiled from the heat in that building. We sit in there with the windows open a little because it is so warm! I come home, and immediately put on sweats and a hoodie which is a whole lot cheaper for my madre than an expensive heating bill.

My goal for break is very geeky. I want to read over 10 books. So far, I have read 1 and a half books. I hope to post my accomplishments at the end of break, but I would rather not accomplish that and go out with my friends or pick up some work hours.

I hope all of my friends and family will have a great break or lack of break, and enjoy the company and season to celebrate Christ's birth.

Final-ly!

They are all popped!

Finally finals are finished, complete, finito. My first semester of college is over! That is both sad and great! It means I will be closer to graduating, and accruing more debt!

I got to come home today with a car full of stuff, morning traffic, and people talking on their cellphones in the left lane on 94!

It feels so weird being home since my new everyday life is being surrounded by cinder blocks, research papers, and late night facebooking. I got to go shopping with mom for Christmas gifts, and made chocolate pretzels things (not sure of the name).
So yummy. My Christmas addiction!

Lastly, Its 10 days until Christmas!

Freshman Finals.

The past few days have been one giant blur.

Sunday I decided to skip church because of finals.
I woke up and wrote 2 papers in a matter of 6 hours, and it went down hill from there. Some girls from Stark floor took a study break, and baked home-made cookies!
The perfect study break.

And, while we were waiting for them to bake we played Bananagrams.

So much fun!

This is our suite window full of exam balloons  waiting to be popped.

This is my row. There are already two popped.
Monday, 15 minutes ago, was a super stressful but fun day. I had two finals for sociology and theology. My favorite part is returning to my room from the exam to stab my balloon...(see pictures above).

I attempted studying for my other 3 balloons, but as always I took a nap. You know that time where you lay down, set an alarm, and it goes off but you turn it off instead of snooze? Yeah, that's what happened. I took an hour and a half nap.

Then about 6 of us went to a very tired but funny dinner. It was the fact that we were all stressed or extremely tired.

There is more stuff to tell you all blog readers, but I'm headed to bed to wake up and finish my research paper on Columbine.

12 days until Christmas!

3-in-1

Here are three posts all wrapped into one.
I am really sorry for not updating my blog daily for those of you that read it or check it regularly.

To be honest, at this point in the night and how I have written in a while I kinda forgot the moment of my days that made me smile. So here is a brief overview of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Thursday (my favorite day of the week)
-One class (last English class of the semester)
-My awesome cousin Sarah came to visit me in my dorm (this is what made my day)
-Thursdays are starkenburg floor dinner. So we go to the BBC for dinner, and just talk. (Sometimes we even     end up on the floor because they are crowded.)

Friday
-Woke up to snow!!! (well saw it the night before)
-Last day of classes for the semester!!!
-We watched the Help (which is a really inspiring movie)

And... Saturday
-My RA is hosting the 12 days of Christmas, and today we went to an outdoor ice skating rink. It was so much fun and cold(20 degrees Farenheit)!
-Shma (Sara) locked me out of Facebook in order for my to study :(
-Studying for finals (3 papers and 4 exams), but what is so fun is setting time limits on how long to study and take random breaks and a Target break.
-And my random happy thing of my day was my hug from Lori!

So instead of writing this blog, I am going to post this and get back to my Sociology paper.

I totally forgot that one week from today I will be home!

December 7th and it's 18 days until Christmas!

My favorite part of my day was doing homework in the hallway. I never knew how much fun and lack of progress could happen at the same time!

I can't wait for my week and finals to be over!

Forgetful.

Im sorry I forgot about this post for the 5th of December. I promise to do it tomorrow.

Mashed Potatoes and Decorating.

December 5th and 20 days till Christmas!

We went to dinner, and there were mashed potatoes. Rachel and I had potatoes. I had gravy on mine and she did not. So she decided to dunk her potatoes in mine. After a while she said that her hands were cold. I said eat more mashed potatoes. Rachel said that wouldn't actually help unless I put my hands in the potatoes or if I take a bath in them. But then I would have mashed potatoes in places that I wouldn't want mashed potatoes to be. Like in your armpits or under your fingernails.

Also Starkenburg floor decorated the hall for Deck the Halls. Which the judging takes place tomorrow at 7pm!

Pics will go up later!

Sunday Smiles.

My day full of nothing!
Just Kidding.

I went to church for the second time while at college. I really liked it, and really enjoyed the message on Rahab.

Sundays aren't that special. They are days where I just wander my hall and talk to friends that have their doors open.

Something that made me smile today was playing Just Dance with my roommate, and watching her do whatever moves she wants is hilarious and she gets so into it.

Another thing that made me smile is happening while I write this post. I just downloaded spotify, and I am now listening to the Polar Express soundtrack!

It is December 4th, and it's 21 days until Christmas!

Saturday, December 3, 2011

Buddy the Elf.

It's December 3rd, and 22 days until Christmas!

So in South Hall there is a Deck the Halls competition of who can have the best hall.
My suite is doing scenes from the movie: Elf!

We spent forty dollars at dollar tree, and many hours decorating the door, ceiling, and window. I absolutely love decorating and listening to Christmas music.

And... that is what made me smile today...

Finished project pictures will be up on Tuesday!

Dancing Fools!

December 2, and its 23 days till Christmas!

I think I have decided to write something that makes my day (1 a day or more).

So as I write this post, my suite mates and I are doing Just Dance 2 for the Wii.

This is one of my favorite ways to exercise! You work so hard, and your arms kill!

But, that's not why I love it. It makes my day to see everyone that plays making complete idiots, or sort of, of themselves. Because I cant dance!!!

Also, ITS FRIDAY!!!!

Holidays.

We have officaly made it through one holiday: Thanksgiving!
Also, today is December 1st.

Where has the time gone? So much has happened this year from graduation, to college, to becoming an adult, and many more.It feels like it should still be June when I graduated with my amazing friends, but its December! It's that time of year where there is no parking at the mall, lines are beyond long, and we eat too much! What's more exciting of seeing your bank account dewindle from buying gifts, and the waist of your pants getting tight from too many cookies(tehe)? The birth of Jesus! It is 24 fast, cold days till he comes into the world.

I hope/plan on putting up a post everyday for the remainder of the holiday season. (maybe) On what? I'm not sure. Maybe a what I am thankful for, or best part of my day? I can't decide. Oh well.

Ciao for now!
