It was honestly hard to come up with 15 things on the spot, but I did it.  So, now back to homework. Happy Leap Day!

Sacrifice.

My RA, Caroline, challenged us for the Lenten season to do these challenges on a website.
We were to watch the 6 short videos, read Romans 12, and post a story or something along those lines. Well I can do the first too, but this website requires you to register using your Facebook account (which I gave up for Lent.).

The first challenge entitled: What are you willing to sacrifice?

http://www.worldvisionacts.org/challenges/prepare-for-lent-what-are-you-willing-to-sacrifice

This is the link. I highly recommend you check it out.
Upon watching the videos and reading Romans 12, I was challenged in renewing or discovering my real definition of sacrifice.

I think sacrifice is your willingness and selflessness to give up something, yourself, and ultimately your life to God and what ever He calls you to do for Him.

The people in the 6 videos below in the link had some pretty powerful things to say.
 http://blog.worldvisionacts.org/2012/02/sacrifice/

Sacrifice according to the 6 videos:
-Willing to give part of yourself to something with love
-Being pushed to your breaking point, pushed to do what's really hard and what doesn't make sense anymore.  Giving something up to the point it hurts.
-What about the 7 billion other people on this earth who have bigger needs that you or I?
-I am not first.
-Esteeming others higher that yourself.
-Learning to love sacrifice because Christ did.

I think the one statement that impacted me the most was: God didn't give us hand-me-downs.  He gave us the best. He gave us his only Son.

So I challenge you. Whoever your are reading this blog to take on these weekly challenges starting on Sunday.

Romans 12- "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy, and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing, and perfect will.

What is sacrifice to you?

Exciting stuff.

It has been a long time since I have just wrote a blog post, and not just a daily blog challenge. There is so much going on in my life right now. I will tell you seven things about the last few weeks.

1) I applied for a RA (resident assistant) position in one of the dorms for next fall. It has been a great experience so far of turning in the app, waiting for a letter, going to the group interview (which was a blast), waiting for a letter in response, getting an individual interview, and finally I am waiting for the last letter to come in my tiny mailbox. It will either say "Congratulations!" or it will say "Sorry to inform you..." or something to that extent. I am nervous, apprehensive, excited, happy, and did I mention nervous? This can/ will change my life. I want to be a RA so bad! I will find out by the 9th!

2) The season for Lent started last Wednesday. I have decided to do many things in this Lenten season. I am giving up three things: soda, ice cream, and.....Facebook. It has been 5 days since the Lenten season began, and it's been easier than I thought. Ice cream has been tempting. Soda has been a challenge, and I took a sip of soda yesterday at the movies. Oops! Facebook has been kind of easy. My friend changed my password; so my account is still there and there is still the temptation to say let me log in. I have gotten so much homework done since I haven't been on. I have never been more productive in my life! My only problem with being locked out is that I am also locked out of Spotify!!!

3) Since I have had so much "free time" since giving up Facebook; I studied for 3 days for my ridiculous Chemistry test.  3 days! I got my grade back; which was a 78. You all would say. Wow that's horrible if you studied for 3 days. Compared to my last chemistry test this is a miracle.  Take that organic and bio chem!

4) Friday night was interesting which leads to points 5 and 6 also. South Hall held the Roommate Rumble; which is a competition for roommates and how well they know each other. So, my suite mates, Rachel and Abby, were nominated to participate. We all quizzed each other for probably like 2 hours Thursday. They won in a sudden death match against the two roommates Caleb and Kaleb. It knew that they would win, and they had nothing to be nervous about.

5) So, I have this really great friend. Her name is Sara, but we all call her Shma. She transferred to a different college because our school didn't have the major she was looking for. Anyway, She came to visit for the first time since she transferred! I missed her so much, and it was awesome to just hang out with her instead of texting her. Which leads to #6.

6) Abby, Cassandra, Kaity, Sarah, Sara, and I went to Ihop for a late night meal (10pm). Ihop seems to be the place to go when we are in college. I think I have been there like 5 times since starting college. Without fail, every time we go to Ihop I have to get the Cinnastack pancakes. I think I almost died the first time I had them! You have to have them at least once before you die because they are that good!

7) This is probably my favorite point to right about. I haven't been home in probably a month; which is a really long time.  My mom and I were texting Saturday night, and I told her we were planning on going to a church around campus Sunday morning (we didn't). My mom asked what I was doing after church, and I replied homework and probably goofing around.  She said okay, but in the back of my mind I was thinking she is probably going to come down to see me.  And low and behold she knocks on my door at 11 am yesterday. So we got pizza, and saw The Vow. Which BTW is a reallllly good movie.  It was filmed in Chicago and Lake Forest (or at least takes place there); which is really cool.  So my Sunday was absolutely amazing.

Day 20.

Day 20 – The meaning behind your blog name.

There isn't really that much meaning behind the name to my blog.  It is simply: Addicted to Life!
I love my life, and of course there are things that I would change or things I wanted to accomplish, do, or try. But I am on this earth because of God and for God. God gave me one life, and that I may live it to my fullest potential. That is just what I will do.

Day 18.

Day 18 – Something you crave a lot.

Delish!

What do I crave? Well, ever since I gave up soda, ice cream, and Facebook for lent, I am craving ice cream like no other!
I think it's just the fact that I can't have any, but it's going to be good for me in the end.

Day 17.

Day 17 – A photo of you and your family.

Cousins (L to R) Brooke, Jordan, Alaina, and me.

Dad's side to the fam.

Momma and me.

Again, in Hawaii on vaca.

Day 15.

Day 15 – Something you don’t leave the house without.
Well right now I'm living in a dorm so I guess that is my home.
My wallet thingy, my ID, my key, and my phone.
That's all I need.

Day 14.

Day 14 – A TV show you’re currently addicted to.
Ooooh. That is a tough one. Since I have been at college, I have had limited channels to watch, and I rely on hulu, and those free 1-month trials. It's sad, but oh so true.
Grey's Anatomy (my all time addiction)

Glee (my music addiction)

H50 (my Hawaii addiction since I was there last year)

Dance Moms (It's my hilarious and dramatic addiction)
I think that is about it for tv-shows. I pretty much never watch tv anymore which is actually not a bad thing, especially since I don't pay 30,000 dollars of tuition to sit and watch tv but to study.

Day 13.

Day 13 – Your favorite musician and why?
There are so many to choose from!

And pretty much every other artist in mainstream music today! I love music I listen to spotify all the time, pandora when I'm feeling adventurous, and Itunes when I want old music.

Day 10.

Day 10  A photo of our favorite place to eat.
Oh my. Hmm that is such a hard decision. Knowing me I love food so I will put a few of my faves.
Not the best picture, but awesome food for cheap. Plus, I know
the owners!
I absolutely love their biscuits and coconut butterfly shrimp!
Yummo! A healthy buffet!
Love going here with my college buddies!

Day 9.

Day 9  A photo of the item you last purchased.

My last shopping trip was to Target with Cassandra, Kaity, Rachel, and Abby.
Cassandra's yoga ball which is identical to mine got a small hole in it by an iron.
So, we went to exchange it, and I exchanged it because they were scared to do it.
While we were there I took the opportunity to buy...

It is a staple in my everyday life! I eat one on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
when I do not have time to eat from the caf. Don't I feel like a college student.

BTW. Happy Valentines Day. (I may do another post later)

Day 8.

Day 8  A song to match your mood.
1. Its Monday. (Enough said)
2. Had a freezing cold shower today. (I can't control it)
3. it’s freezing outside.
4. I love life.
So why do I need to complain? I don't I  have a hard time describing my mood pretty much every day, or it fluctuates too much to actually say I'm crabby, happy, grumpy, sleep, or excited. So instead of a song that matches my mood; I will post one of my favorite songs right now. Thanks to my awesome friend Cassandra for showing it to me and it’s appropriate for a special day tomorrow. :) I hope you like it, and I'm sorry I put it at the top not the bottom of this post.

Day 7.

Day 7 – Your dream wedding.
The coolest thing is that we had a panelist of single, engaged, or married people in the lobby of South tonight.  It was called "Love in the Lob", and it was really cute it was all decorated for valentines day and complete with a chocolate fountain. If you know me at all, you would know that I love all things wedding. I am definitely not getting married anytime soon!! I am absolutely in love with the whole wedding scene, and to prove that I even have a wedding album on Pinterest.
I am nuts about everything from my dress, to hair, to the ring, to flowers, to the bridesmaids dresses, and ultimately the wedding photography and engagement pictures! So here is a link to my wedding album thing http://pinterest.com/blm393/dream-wedding/ please go check it out!

I just want my husband to be this excited.

I love it! She has the same first and last name as me!

He is so cute! I always loved the chipmunk from Enchanted!

The real life version! He is so cute and chubby!
Oh my! That is such a hard decision! If I had to choose. . . It would have to be a chipmunk!
Especially since I see them running around on campus!

Day 3.

Day 3 – Your idea of the perfect first date.

Hmm. That is a tough one.
I'm not a dinner and movie kinda girl.

It's hard to say because I haven't been on very many.
If I had to choose, I would say a walk where we just talk, or something cheesy like that.
I would walk around Chicago, the beach, or even just the neighborhood.

It doesn't really matter what we would do, expect that we have fun and laugh alot!

Day 2.

Day 2 – A photo of something you ate today.
Cream of Chicken soup from the caf.

Amazing Ice cream, but in soft serve form from the caf.

What didn't I eat. Just kidding! I had lunch and dinner today which is rare because of my crazy schedule this semester!
