Currently, vol 51.

Hey everyone! It has been another busy week around here... from classes, to a field trip, and 15 hours of work. I worked on my PowerPoint for my Tuesday night class for 8 hours or more yesterday. I took a break to go get Chinese with mom, and we stopped at Jewel to get a couple things. I may or may not have eaten an entire pint of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. YUM. Happy Star War's Day/Cinco de Mayo Eve.
Henna from Litte India, Devon Avenue in Chicago
What it looked like after the stuff peeled off!
So here is what's going on currently...
Reading: well re-reading all my notes, textbooks, and lectures for the semester.
Thinking: about what I need to accomplish this week especially if I am going out Mon night for drinks.
Listening: Lady Gaga is singing. I might be singing along. Also, my little dog is snoring. :)
Writing: this post and then time to write pathophysiology notes for the last three weeks. I'm behind. :(
Smelling: nada.
Wishing: for permanent nice weather. It was 65 yesterday. It has rained for what seems like the last week. I don't recall moving to Washington?
Hoping: that Ulta will have my eyeliner... especially since there $1 sale starts today! Also hoping I can go to Starbucks's Frapp Happy Hour today!
Wearing: running shorts and a workout shirt despite my plans not to workout.
Loving: sleeping for more than 6 hours this weekend. I really need a day to sleep in.
Wanting: the next 11 days to be productive. Then it will be summer!
Needing: to eat breakfast and start studying... I am skipping church. I feel bad.
Feeling: stressed, just stressed.

I hope you all have a good week preferably with no stress!

P.S. Go Blackhawks!!!

Currently, vol 46.

Well this week has been a blast. Busy at school, work @ Panera, and my 21st bday. I just finished my bday recap. Today will be a busy day of lots of homework, and installing a new water heater. Our basement half flooded, and we have no hot water. Therefore, no shower till it's fixed.
Finally 21!
Currently...
Reading.. The Fault in Our Stars. I am still reading it, and it is a great book to pick up and continue after a long day of learning or work.

Writing.. in my new 5-year journal I received for my bday. It asks the same question everyday for five years.

Thinking.. about all the homework I should have accomplished yesterday.

Listening.. to Catching Fire in the background. I seriously love this movie!

Smelling.. nothing.

Wishing.. for warmer weather. I am thankful there is no snow, but getting out of the 30s would be better.

Wearing.. a sweatshirt and pj pants. This is my go-to Sunday outfit before church, but since we have no hot water.. no church for us.

Loving.. the sunshine. It is coming through my window, and it is so bright!

Wanting.. to find food for breakfast. I ate a hard-boiled egg; not filling at all.

Needing.. to go for another run yesterday. I took tommy out yesterday, and we went maybe a half mile because it was so cold. Also a lady had her dog off it's leash (city law: dogs must have a leash). She proceeded to tell me she didn't care, and she definitely called me a bad name. Jerk.

Feeling.. so much better than yesterday. My head killed because of the alcohol from Friday night. Oh well.

Have a great week!

P.S. The Blackhawks won on my birthday!! We watched the game at the bar in the casino!

Currently, vol 45.

I'm sitting under my miss-matched Christmas lights, watching Fireproof, and just relaxing. I am writing this post on Saturday night because I am working two shifts at Panera tomorrow. I get the joy to toast bagels, create delicious drinks, and take customers orders for 12 hours. This both sarcastic and not sarcastic. Sunday marks the end of an uneventful spring break. I got my wisdom teeth removed, ate out with friends, watched way to much Netflix, and did barely any homework. I am ready to start classes again, and I am excited to see my college friends again. :)

Adorable puppies from a pet expo on Friday.
Currently....
Reading.. The Fault in Our Stars. I am still reading it, but I have enjoyed not having to read textbooks.

Writing.. this blogpost among journal articles and essays for scholarships.

Thinking.. about taking my shower tonight and not in the morning so I can wake up just a tad bit later.

Listening.. to Fireproof. It's a Christian movie with bad acting, but it is cute every once in a while.

Smelling.. nothing right now, but my sweet neighbor brought mom and I a whole pie from Bakers Square.

Wishing.. and hoping that the snow they are predicting will not be a lot.

Wearing.. a sweatshirt and sweatpants. This will probably never change. I am not complaining.

Loving.. the break I had from school. Much needed.

Wanting.. to get good sleep before the week starts. Sleep is going to get sparse again.

Needing.. to start exercising. I lost six pounds this week due to not eating cause of my wisdom teeth surgery, and I want to keep it up.

Feeling.. excited. 6 days until my birthday!

Have a great week!

Currently, vol 41.

Happy Sunday bloggers! I am in such a better mood from yesterday. Valentine's Day, I worked for 13.5 hours, and it just about killed me. I cashiered for 6 hours, and I did dishes for the remainder of the time. My hands are completely cracked and peeling. I was so exhausted that I slept for ten hours, but I was just insanely crabby and tired yesterday. I am feeling so much better! I am watching bobsledding while doing homework and blogging. I decided to skip church because there is just so much to do before needing to go to the bread bash (Panera team meetings) at 7 tonight.
My valentine's gift from mom.
Shirt, via mocha, and Reese's!
My cuties snuggling on the couch this morning!

Currently..
Reading.. lots and lots of books for school.

Writing.. a couple of short papers this week along with re-doing my notes for my pathophysiology exam on Wednesday!

Thinking.. about the importance of doing well with my classes this semester. I just have to keep pushing!

Listening.. to Olympic bobsledding on my iPhone since I don't have the NBCSN. So it's technically live which is awesome. I'm waiting for the Jamaican team! Cool Runnings!

Smelling.. a combo of bath and body work's soap and Reese's.

Wishing.. There was more hours in the day or that I would be more productive. Both would be nice!

Wearing.. a hoodie and sweats. My Sunday best!

Loving.. the sunshine! This is a repeat of last week, but hey it's true.

Wanting.. to write my Geology paper in under an hour and a half.

Needing.. to start exercising again. I feel so sluggish.

Feeling.. good.

Clicking.. Publish!

Have a great week everyone!

Currently, vol 40.

Happy Sunday! I am doing homework all day today (minus church), and I will accompany homework tonight by watching the Olympics! I really love the Olympics because it is a time for the world to come together despite all the things that drive countries apart. My favorite sport is probably snowboarding and skiing! I really love the sports, but I am not very good at either. I ran into a tree skiing when I was 12. I will be excited to root for Gracie Gold tonight! She lives about 45 minutes from my town!
Go USA!!!

This week's shenanigans in Geology. hehe

Currently..
Reading.. all of my lovely textbooks of course! Right now is Chronic Illness:Impact and Intervention. It is really interesting, but the chapters for class are so long!

Writing.. my responses to questions about the above mentioned book. It should take about another hour. I hope!

Thinking.. about my to-do list. I fell behind with some of my reading. I told myself, "Of course you'll have time to read... just one more hour of the Olympics are left." Gosh. Someone needs to tell me to get it together.

Listening.. to the radio in the background...one of Rihanna's songs I don't like.

Smelling.. nothing right now.

Wishing.. I was talented enough to go to the Olympics! The only sport I could go for would be volleyball.

Wearing.. my comfy brown sweater that I wore to church, and my super warm sweatpants.

Loving.. the sunshine! Despite all the snow and cold weather, I really do love the sun.

Wanting.. to get back to my homework... The Olympics are my motivation for everything now.

Needing.. for it to be Thursday already... It's going to be 32 degrees!!!! That will be the first time above freezing since last year I think?

Feeling.. sleepy.

Clicking.. Publish!

Have a great week everyone!

Currently, vol 37.

Well it's the last Sunday of 2013. It has been a pretty great year all around. I have learn a lot, seen a lot, and been through a lot. I am thankful for the people in my life particularly my friend Lori. I am very excited to begin 2014 off by hanging out with her for interim! We have a board on Pinterest dedicated to a bucket list of things to do. I'm hoping to make 2014 a great year.
This is my current view with the dogs on my bed, comfy new pjs, and Harry potter again.

Currently..
Reading.. Charlie St. Cloud. I didn't read much because I was busy at work this week.

Writing.. Not much. I don't really want to do anything for the last week of Christmas break. Lol.

Thinking.. That I'm sad break is ending, but I'm ready to start being productive again.

Smelling.. The frozen waffles I just made. Leggo my eggo.

Wishing.. For a good day off. Mom and I were bad and skipped church. We're going to see Saving Mr. Banks today.

Wearing.. A new crew neck sweatshirt (4 bucks at old navy) and new flannel pj pants (6 bucks at old navy).

Loving.. That I'm super sore from two days of work and working out. I like feeling the results. Except now I have what I think is a cold. Bummer.

Wanting.. To go back to sleep.

Needing.. To take a hot shower and get ready for the day. Lol it's already 11am.

Feeling.. Excited for nye. My cousin Brian is getting married to his fiancée Kate on New Year's Eve! It's is going to be a crazy reception with 400 people attending!

Clicking.. Publish before picking up my crocheting needle.

Have a great end of 2013 and beginning to 2014!

Currently, vol. 16

It has been another crazy week here in Northern IL. Yesterday, my mom and I woke up at 4:30 to volunteer at the Urban Warrior Dash. It is a obstacle course 5k to raise money for St. Jude's Children Hospital. We were working the water booth, and some people were really funny, tired, sweaty, or even drunk. It was tons of fun.
The last obstacle before the finish line.

They had to climb walls!

Bonus photo: This is Great Lakes Naval Hospital.
Myself and my mom both worked here, and they are in the process of tearing it down.
It is sad to see it go. I worked on the 9th floor in the med library.

So, here's what's going on currently...
reading not a whole lot. I am just working and sleeping
writing this post and hopefully responding to emails and a scholarship this evening
thinking about going back to sleep. I took a nap, and now I'm still tired. I need to cut the grass though.
smelling nada.
wishing for a  good run today. My legs are super tense from yesterday's run. It's like stretching making everything worse.
hoping to see a small number on the scale this week.
wearing a tank and running shorts.
loving the warmer weather we're having today.
wanting to watch Harry Potter and nap at the same time.
needing to get up and get stuff done. Probably not going to happen though.
feeling like my muscles hate me
clicking the refresh button on my blogger homepage. Time to catch up on my reading.

Have a great week!

Currently, vol. 15

Oh what a week it has been here in Northern IL. I had an awesome week both at work and having fun with friends. I worked only three days surprisingly, and it was awesome to finally start sleeping in past 7am. Friday was my old high school's graduation. I graduated with 4 other people, and this year's graduating class was just the same: Five people! I look back now, and I think that is crazy. I hate saying that I was Salutatorian of my class because that isn't so hard to do. So, my entire class was reunited to go to graduation , and it felt just like old times. Some of us even went to Denny's at 11 pm. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Saturday, one of my best friends, Monic, turned 20! She is the last of my graduating class to leave the teen years. We met her and her family for pizza last night, and after my friends Monic, Aryan, Chris, and I went bowling until midnight! I then stayed up until 2, and got up for work at 5:15am. Wow. That was a lot. So, I am relaxing, staying updated on the Blackhawks game, watching Life of Pi, and after that Safe Haven. Life is Good, and God is Great!

Ms. D (my fav teach), Precious, Aryan, Monic, Me, and Chris.
This is my old class!

Bowling!

Goofing off.

Chris, me, Ary, and Mo.

reading The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks.
writing up a job application to the movie store down the street, and applying for many jobs.
thinking about all the things around the house that need to be done tomorrow. I need to mow, sweep, clean my room, pull weeds, and go for a 4 mile run.
smelling nothing?
wishing for a call from one of the many jobs I applied for!
hoping to accomplish a lot this week in many areas of my life.
wearing my new Blackhawks t-shirt!!! It is for #19 Toews! We are currently in the lead in Game 2: 4-1!!
loving not having homework!
wanting to clean. I never want to do that so something must be wrong with me.
needing to go close my window. It is 44 degrees outside right now. Umm, hello? I thought it was June.
feeling stressed financially.(again same from last week and the week before that)
clicking the post button.

Have a great week everyone.

P.S. check back later this week for a post about the infamous quotes from working at Panera Bread!
P.S.S. i've lost three pounds or more this week!

It's been a lazy weekend, and I am loving it. I woke up early without an alarm, and it didn't bother me one bit. I am very excited to be entering the last week of class, and I am getting antsy. Plus the weather is just gorgeous! It's in the low seventies this week, and I can't be happier.
I even got to hang with these 2 kiddos.

reading notes and finishing homework.
writing my first May blogpost!
listening to the movie Twister. It was on ABC family last night, and I just happened to record it. It is a classic that I love since I wanted to be a meteorologist when I was little.
thinking about beginning the studying/ prep for finals week. I am looking forward to a break from classes. I need to work, and not do anything else.
smelling freshly mowed lawn on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
wishing for great grades on my finals.
hoping for a good week leading up to Mother's Day. I should go shopping for my mom's gift. I don't know what she wants.
wearing yoga pants and my shamrock shuffle volunteer t-shirt. I promise I do dress nicely.
loving the fact that I survived my week. I had three presentations and an exam in anatomy. I got a 92 on it! I am also loving my mood. I am so happy!
wanting to buy sunglasses. I never look good in them.
needing to go sit outside for a while to do my homework and soak up some vitamin D.
feeling great about this week.
clicking on my micro homework due tomorrow. It is definitely going to take me a while.

Have a great week everyone and enjoy the weather!

Wow, where'd the weekend go? This weekend has gone crazy fast, and I have only done half of the things on my to do list. Friday, Lori and I went shopping and got froyo. It was so fun, and then we spend a good two hours watching YouTube videos! Saturday, Lori invited some friends to have a cookout with her and her family. Her dad made us chicken fajitas on a dutch oven/cast iron thingy. They were fantastic along with all the other food too and an amazing cheesecake! After that, Rachel, Kaity, and I went to try on our future scrubs for clinicals next semester! We were so excited, and we all looked so cute! Today, I am being productive with homework/studying, and then I have a meeting with a group for our sex trafficking presentation. So here is what's going on currently.
Chocolate Cheesecake.
We may or may not have two slices each?

Bringing back the 90s!

Pig pile!

We found a little deer!
This is Senica ( I might have spelled it wrong). She is
Lori's 2nd cousin.

Me and Kaity

Rachel and me

reading over my anatomy notes for our exam tomorrow!
writing information for my sex trafficking in Cambodia meeting today.
listening to the annoying fan in my laptop.
thinking about the fact that next year's tuition, fees, and clinical fees are posted, and how I am going to pay for it.
smelling nothing right now, but the house smelled like bacon this morning!
wishing there were more hours in the day. why not 25?
hoping this week goes fast and furious. I have three presentations and one exam on top of normal homework.
wearing my new t-shirt from Opus last week and running shorts. (not that I have time to run today)
loving the weather! It is supposed to be 80 in Chicago on Tuesday, and that is my short day!
wanting get a pedicure. My feet just look so sad in sandals and flipper floppers due to calluses.
needing summer to get here quicker! I think we're down to 19 days until the semester is finished.
feeling a little overwhelmed by the amount of time consuming events, meetings, and school I have this week. I have nothing next week which bothers me.
clicking on nothing. After I finish this post, my laptop is going to sleep for a while so I can study. Well, maybe I will hope over to fb for 5 minutes.

Have a good week!

I have tears in my eyes while adding this note to my post, but a close church friend lost her battle to cancer today. Jenny was such a beautiful person and a fantastic mother. She will be forever in our church's memories and we will miss her dearly. Here is a video of her. I just hope you will pray for her family and friends especially her little girl who is so precious.

Happy Easter Everyone!!! I hope you all had fantastic days today celebrating what is trying important besides the chocolate bunny, and that it that Christ is Risen!! I love Easter, and all it stands for. My pastor said today, "Everyday should be Easter. We are to remember everyday what Christ did for you and me." I thought that was very well said. I am thinking about doing a whole post on Easter festivities tomorrow. I am just too dang tired to write a lot. So here we go...
My blurry Easter outfit.

Currently...
reading the nursing entrance exam practice book, and still on Life of Pi. I am still reading that book because I have no motivation to do anything ahead of time. I have to read all of Part 2 for Wednesday while studying for a microbiology exam!
writing this blogpost and trying to keep my eyes open.
listening to the heater running. I thought spring was here to stay, but winter is gracing us with its presence again tomorrow with a high of 37!
thinking about all the things I have to do tomorrow. Mom wants me to go to Target, and get half price Easter egg kits for next year. Plus I have so much homework and chores to do tomorrow.
smelling not much with my random stuffy nose.
wishing calmness over the next two overly busy weeks.
hoping to make it to the cemetery tomorrow to visit Grandpa. Tomorrow is 5 years since his passing, and of course being the jokester he was he had to pass on April Fools' Day.
wearing yoga capris and a tee.
loving the thought of curling up with these two pups for the night before returning to school tomorrow.
wanting to incorporate God more into my life. I feel that I have been pushing devotions and such to the side over the past few weeks. I definitely see a difference in my life without constant  reminders of His creation and my life.
needing to be insanely productive tomorrow.
feeling tired, but thankful for God's amazing Son!
clicking: the netflix button at the top of my web browser. Time to watch the dramatic lives of Lauren Conrad and friends in The Hills. I don't know why, but I am digging that show lately. Link up here.

Weekly lesson learned:
Don't give stuffed toys to TomTom.
The last day of spring break is here. Sigh... I don't really feel up to going back to school. I did practically no school work while home. I only did anatomy homework while watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Hey, it was spring break and my birthday; so therefore, I have an excuse to not do homework. I loved going to church today. It was Palm Sunday, and of course we waved our palm branches during the hymns. Our church partners up with another church to put on a cantata every Easter and Christmas, and this year it was fantastic! Something about the orchestra and voices just spoke to me. It was entitled Footprints in the Sand. I think it was a great way to begin the week leading up to Christ's death and ultimately His resurrection. Plus I am excited to wear my new Easter dress. (from Ross for $15).

Currently...
reading Life of Pi. It is pretty fantastic so far! I have to read part one for tomorrow. My goal is to finish it before the Amazing race starts tonight.
writing my philosophy paper due Wednesday. I have begun thinking about it, but who would I be if I didn't wait until the last minute as always? I promise you that procrastination is a gene written into my families DNA. My Aunt swears by it!
listening the gentle hum of my laptop, and the distant chattering of dog tags (one is currently walking around my room).
thinking about all that I need to do to drive back to school tomorrow at 6:45 am. I just didn't feel prepared to drive back tonight. Too much to read, and too much to pack. It's not like I only have 3.5 days of school this week due to Easter.
smelling my hair shampoo from this morning combined with whiffs of flat iron. I got my hair cut yesterday. No, not picture worthy. It was just a trim. Although, I did cave into getting side bangs again.
wishing all my friends safe drives back to school. I know a couple of people driving east along side the snow storm. So, I wish them luck and god speed. lol I just hope they arrive in one piece and not too frazzled.
hoping to accomplish a lot of homework this week so that I can focus on family and Easter celebrations this weekend. Easter is a big deal to me. I want so badly to have Easter be refocused onto Christ and not the Easter bunny. Yes, he is cute and delish, but chocolate is only temporary. The real reason I celebrate is because of Christ's resurrection and my eternal life because of Him.
wearing sweats and a t-shirt of course!
loving my new shoes I got for my birthday! I got Sperry's for the first time, and I think I am in love. They are so stinkin' comfy!
wanting to go for a run at least three times this week. I just am hoping that the weather will cooperate with me. Chicago's springtime is a delayed winter apparently. Every year it is so confused!
needing to check my bracket for March Madness. I am rooting for Indiana this year. I don't know why, but that is where my gut is. I typically like girl's basketball better than men's.
feeling like writing this post was a good idea. It gave me a chance to step back and regroup before diving back into my book. It also gives me a reason to procrastinate some more.
clicking summer job opportunities. I found this link on Pinterest, and it makes me want to work somewhere crazy this summer. Yes, it is about travel, but it has put my mind in a place to think about where to apply for jobs and such.

I hope you all have a great week!

Pardon my mess, but Tom discovered himself in the mirror.
Then he barked at himself for a while.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! I am wearing green! Are you? If not be prepared to be electronically pinched.
My weekend has been great so far! Mom and I went to the Arlington Race Track for the Chicagoland Pet Expo yesterday. It was fun, and I loved petting all the dogs and puppies! We went to Portillo's for dinner, and then drove to Northbrook to go to Nordstrom Rack. I really wanted to get spring/summer shoes. I found some Toms and Sperry shoes, but they weren't fitting right or rubbed. So my search for shoes continues... Today we went to church which was good, and I like seeing all my church family. This afternoon we will go to the movies to finally see Safe Haven! It has been out for a month, and I have been dying to see it after reading the book!

reading or need to begin reading for lit class, Life of Pi. I heard that it is a slow read at the beginning, but I just hope that it is good.
writing my philosophy paper due after spring break. We are to write on one of the Christian virtues. Also, I have to write my psych mid-term also due after spring break. C'mon profs don't you want to give us a break?
listening to the radio. It's on 101.9 here in the Chicago area, and Wild Ones by Flo Rida.
thinking about wanting to take a nap. This cold is slowly killing me. That's an exaggeration, but I really want to sleep.
smelling not much due to the cold I have.
wishing to eat Skittles for the rest of my life, and not gain weight.
hoping to have a good week, and that it doesn't go to insanely fast.
wearing a green tee, my louisville hoodie from bball camp in '07, and skinny jeans.
loving my spaceheater aka my little dog. she sits on my lap all day, and she is so warm!
wanting to eat cheesecake.
needing to feed my target addiction by going to target
feeling like i need to eat lunch. my stomach is talking to me.
clicking on the blogs i read. it's time to catch up.

Have a great week everyone. Maybe the start of spring will actually bring us warmer weather.

Hey all! It is the beginning of a new week, and we lost one hour of sleep last night. I don't know if I am tired from that or if its from watching Addy (cousin's daughter) and going having a girls' night out.

Addy let me even do both of our nails.
She helped me do mine as well.
reading but mainly only downloaded the Perks of Being a Wallflower. I wanted to read the book before I did anything else. I guess that will have to wait until Spring Break which starts in five days.
writing my short story for my English lit class. We are to take one of the poems we have read, and turn it into a short story that's due tomorrow.
listening to the tv out in the front living room. I think my aunt is watching Momma Mia?
thinking about the fact that this week is midterms. How is it possible to be half done already?
smelling the jelly beans that I am eating. Hey it's almost Easter, and I treated myself to a bag of jelly beans from Target.
wishing i could go back to sleep, and start the day all over again. My brain is super fuzzy. I hope I am just tired, and that I am not getting sick.
hoping my boss will put me on the schedule over break because I need to make some dough (both figuratively and literally). I do make things out of dough at work.
wearing sweats, t-shirt, and miss matched socks. One is bright yellow and one is gray. My feet were cold last night, and so without turning the light on I picked out two socks to wear. I have a great hatred for miss matched socks, but it's to late to fix that now.
loving my secret board on Pinterest. It is pretty great. Sometimes I just don't want people seeing all the food recipes I repin. I feel like they inwardly judge me!
wanting to go sun tanning. It is currently crappy weather and partially raining. So I don't think that I am going to get much color.
needing to workout. It was such a bad week in the nutrition and workout department. I consider the stairs in the science building to be a mini workout. No matter how fit you are by the time you are at the top you have a hard time breathing.
feeling like i am going to get no homework done until this evening. My morning was semi-productive, but now I have no urge to write my story, come up with my psych outline, or start reviewing for my anatomy midterm. on the publish tab, and them I am going to go back to my pinteresting.
clickingon the publish tab, and them I am going to go back to my pinteresting.
